IRF Workshop: PPPs in the Road Sector
Public Private Partnerships are being increasingly utilized as an alternative to traditional public financing methods for road and surface transport infrastructure. This workshop will bring together top practitioners and experts from the private sector, public sector, and financing institutions to discuss and examine what conditions are required to implement successful PPP projects that bring value to the government, its private sector partners, and — most importantly — the public. In addition, different models of offsetting public funding via Road User Charging will be highlighted as a specialist case study.

IRF Workshop: Safer Roads by Design Execution
Safer Roads By Design
Vulnerable Road Users, Work Zone Safety & Road Safety Audits

New unsafe roads are being designed and built because national standards are out of date and/or road authorities and design engineering consulting firms are unaware of today’s safety best practices and new state of the art technologies. In response, the IRF has created a complete and comprehensive internationally acclaimed world class safety workshop — Safer Roads by Design™ — built to leave a lasting impression on attendees. Its intent is to introduce concepts that can be used to prevent crashes, as well as concepts that will help reduce the severity of crashes.

This particular workshop will focus on Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) and Work Zones with a brief introduction to Road Safety Audits. Taught by one the one leading voices of Road Safety around the world, Mr. Michael Dreznes (Executive Vice President- IRF),  this workshop is designed to transfer to each participant the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to diagnose safety issues associated with Vulnerable Road Users and Work Zones and to also select the appropriate actions and countermeasures to address those issues.

Participants who complete this workshop will receive an international IRF Certificate of Completion, as well as 10 Professional Development Hours (PDH). Furthermore, delegates will be added to the IRF Road Safety Mailing list and, as alumni of the course, will have access to IRF professionals.
